The Afghan government reacted at the decision of the Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) to drop the names of 35 candidates from the parliamentary elections.
The Office of the President, ARG Palace, in a statement said the government of national unity has always been and is committed to on time, transparent, and fair elections.
The statement further added that the independence and authorities of the elections commissions are clear as per the laws and the government fully respects the independence of the independent election commission and the independent electoral complaints commission.
ARG Palace also added that the government and the nation demand the elections to be held as per the scheduled announced which has roots to the commitments of the unity government, constitution of Afghanistan, and other laws of the country and therefore there is no doubt that the elections would not be held on the specified dates.
The statement by ARG Palace also added that the success of elections will have links with the cooperation of the people and respect to the enforced laws of the country.
This comes as the independent electoral complaints commission on Saturday announced that the names of at last 35 candidates have been dropped from the upcoming parliamentary elections.
