7 passengers lose lives as cars collide in Balkh

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): At least seven passengers were killed as a result of a traffic accident in the Sholgar district of northern Balkh province on Monday morning, an official said.


Acting district police chief Esmatullah told Pajhwok Afghan News the accident took place in the Khairabad area of the district, where a car en route to Mazar-i-Sharif crashed into another.
He said victims of the accident on the Mazar-Dara-i-Sauf highway were residents of northern Samangan province.
Meanwhile, Sholgar Hospital Director Syed Rassoul Sayyafpur confirmed receiving seven bodies, including four of men, two of women and one of a child. He said no relatives of the dead had arrived at the hospital so far.
