Afghanistan's National Security Adviser Hanif Atmar resigned on Saturday.

In his resignation letter, Atmar cited "serious disagreement" with policies of the leadership of the government onmaintainingnational unity and consensus, peace, political management, elections, good governance and relations with countries.
A government source told 1TV that ministers of defense, interior and head of National Directorate of Security would also resign soon.
