Afghanistan defeats Ireland in opening match of bilateral ODI series
The Afghanistan National Cricket Team defeated Ireland by 29 runs during the opening game of a three-match bilateral One Day International (ODI) series.

Played Belfast city of Ireland, the cricket team of Ireland won the toss and elected to field first.
The Afghanistan national cricket started its batting inning and managed to score 227 runs from 50overs and by losing 9 wickets.
Gulbadin Naib managed to score the highest runs on the batting side for Afghanistan. He hit 6 fours to score 64 runs from 98 balls.
Other batsmen, Hashmatullah Shahidi scored runs, Rahmat Shah 29 runs, Asghar Stanikzai 25 runs, Hazratullah Zazai 14 runs, Shafiqullah 11 runs, Aftab Alam 11 runs, Ihsanullah 9 runs, Mujeeb Ur Rehman 4 runs, Mohammad Nabi and Rashid scored 1 run each.
However, the Ireland batsmen could not chase the given target and lost all their 10 wickets by scoring 198 runs from 48.3 overs.
Rashid Khan managed to take two wickets on the bowling side, Aftab Alam and Mohammad Nabi also took2 wickets each while Mujeeb Ur Rehman took one wicket on the bowling side.
This comes as the Afghan team had earlier sealed the bilateral Twenty20 International series against Ireland 2-0.
