The National Procurement Commission (NPC) approved 17 procurement related cases with a total value of around 3.2 billion Afghanistan, during a meeting chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.

The Office of the President, ARG Palace, said six new contracts having a total value of 2.8 billion Afghanis were among the new procurement related cases which were reviewed and approved during the meeting.
The new contracts approved during the meeting include consulting services for 40km road construction by Kabul Municipality, procurement of high quality liquid oil for the central and regional military units in seven provinces as per the requirements of the logistics directorate of the Chief Staff office, provision of pipes for the water supply project for the ‘E’ area of Wazir Mohammad Akbar Hill, contract for the international telecommunication via Voice Carrier through the Ministry of Telecommunication and Information Technology, procurement of meat for the Ministry of Interior, and procurement of meat for the General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Centers.
According to ARG Palace, the approval of the recommendations for modifications in certain contracts was also among the procurement cases which were reviewed and approved during the meeting of the National Procurement Commission.
The meeting approved the request for the medication of the contract without an increase in value for the construction of slaughterhouses in Kabul, Balkh, Herat, and Kunduz by the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, request for the extension of the contract period for the construction of the new provincial government compound in Balkh, request for the modification of the contract with an increase in value for establishment and provision of equipment for the Construction Laboratories by the Ministry of Public Works, and request for the modification of the contract for with an increase in value for the better work performance in the project for the construction of 15.069km of road in Shebarghan city of Jawzjan province, ARG Palace added.
Representatives from the parliamentary commissions for budgetary and financial affairs, national economic commissions, Integrity watch Afghanistan, SIGAR, and Resolute Support also participated in the meeting, ARG Palace said in its statement.
