Afghanistan- Kazakhstan 10th Inter-governmental Commission Session held
The 10th Session of Inter-governmental Commission on Economic and Trade between Afghanistan and Kazakhstan held at Kabul Serena Hotel. The meeting co-chaired by Dr. Najibullah Wardak, Deputy Minister of Customs and Revenue at Ministry of Finance and Mr. Talgat Yeshenkulov, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan in presence of Acting Minister of Finance and Chief Advisor on Infrastructure and Technology to the President of Afghanistan.
Mr. Alimkhan Yessengeldiyev, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Afghanistan, the relevant Deputy Minister and directors of different organizations participated in the event.
"Launching intergovernmental sessions between the two countries is a sign of two countries' interest to strengthen bilateral relations. Strengthening economic and trade cooperation is one of the priorities of the Afghan government. and the Joint Intergovernmental Commission is considered as the main framework for us to expand our economic and trade relations, which can play a key role in this direction" said H.E. Mohammad Humayon Qayoumi, Acting Minister of Finance in the opening remarks while welcoming Kazakhstan's delegation.
"Kazakh government is committed to fulfill its obligations and jointly works with the Afghan government to implement them" said Mr. Talgat Yeshenkulov, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan while expressing his gratitude to the Afghan side for hosting the event.  He called on Afghanistan to provide them the list of government priority development projects for joint ventures. He also reminded of the importance of the Afghan-Kazakh Intergovernmental Commission as effective framework for bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
In the session, technical committees fully discussed strengthening and expanding economic and trade relations between Afghanistan and Kazakhstan, economic growth, transit and regional connectivity, Kazakhstan's investment in mines, the purchase of Kazakh oil and gas through government to government mechanism, Customs cooperation, increased exports and imports between the two countries, Kazakhstan's cooperation in education, higher education, agriculture, and other related issues.
At the end, the protocol of the 10th session of the Afghanistan-Kazakhstan Intergovernmental Commission, in terms of 11 sections and 34 articles, was signed by Dr. Najibullah Wardak, Deputy Minister of Custom and Revenue at Ministry of Finance, Mr. Talgat Yeshenkulov, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the areas of trade and industry, transit and transportation, agriculture, petroleum and mines, higher education, banking and cultural Affairs.
