Fourteen members of Afghan Local Police have been killed after Taliban insurgents attacked checkpoints in northern Samangan province last night, an official said Monday.
Six more police were wounded in the attacks which targeted checkpoints in Ziraki village of Dar-e-Suf district, said Seddiq Azizi, a spokesman for provincial governor.
The official said that three attackers were killed while four more were injured in the clash which lasted for one hour.
The insurgents are said to have seized weapons belonging to police.
