Pakistani national among 7 arrested on charges of arms smuggle
The Afghan forces have arrested a group of seven people including a Pakistani national on charges of smuggling arms in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.

The Commander of the First Brigade of Border Forces Gen. Mohamamd Ayoub Hussain Khel said the suspects were arrested during an operation in Dur Baba district.
Gen. Hussain Khel further added that the men were arrested from Zhamgori area of Dur Baba district.
He said the Afghan forces have confiscated 305 ammunition magazines of Ak-47, and spares of PKM machine and M-16 rifles.
According to Gen. Hussain Khel the detained individuals were attempting to smuggle the ammunition magazines and weapons spares from Dur Baba district.
He also added that the detained individuals have confessed regarding their involvement in the smuggle of weapons and munitions.
Nangarhar has been among the relatively calm provinces but the security situation of the province has deteriorated comparatively during the recent years.
Both the Taliban and ISIS loyalists are active in some remote districts of Nangarhar as counter-terrorism operations are underway to eliminate the terrorist groups from the province.
