Ghani confers medal on former ACB chief, award cash prizes to Afghan cricketers
President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani conferred High State Medal on former Chairman of Afghanistan Cricket Board Shokrullah Atif Mashal and awarded cash prizes to the Afghan cricket team members.

Senior Presidential Adviser on Cultural Affairs Asadullah Ghazanfar read a Presidential Decree during a ceremony organized in Charchinar Palace on Saturday evening.
The decree states that the award of High State Medal of Ghazi Mir Masjedi to former ACB Chairman Shokrullah Atif Mashal has been approved for his services and efforts, particularly in achieving the full membership of the International Cricket Council, preparation of the strategic plan for cricket in Afghanistan, and drafting policies.
The former ACB Chairman was also hailed for expressing capabilities and good performance while serving as Cricket Board Chairman.
In the meantime, President Ghani told the Afghan cricket team members that he and the whole nation are proud of the Afghan cricketers for winning hearts of the people.
Pointing towards the last match with the Indian cricket team, President Ghani hailed the morale of the Afghan cricketers and Indian supporters of the two teams for showing enthusiasm during the match and emphasizing on long-term friendship of the two countries.
He also thanked the former ACB Chairman for his services and congratulated the new Chairman of the Cricket Board for assuming the charge as he expressed hopes that the new Chairman Mr. Azizullah Fazli would better serve the Cricket Board of the country.
President Ghani also promised that the government would provide necessary facilities to the cricket team to help them have more success and championships in the future.
