Contracts worth 5.37b Afghanis approved including purchase of biometrics systems
New contracts worth 5.37 billion Afghanis have been approved during the last meeting of the National Procurement Commission chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.

The Office of the President, ARG Palace, in a statement said National Procurement Commission approved 19 new contracts including the purchase of biometrics system and equipment, having a total value of 5.37 billion Afghanis.
The statement further added that some of other key contracts approved during the meeting include hiring of consulting firm for CASA-1000 project, restoration works of Dar Ul Aman Palace, construction and rehabilitation of canals in Dasht Archi and Shahrawan of Kunduz province, ground paving work in Logistics Park of Maidan Shahr and construction of the roads, maintenance work of Kabul River having a length of 2.5 kilometers, construction of 1.7 kilometers of road in Khushal Khan of Kabul, repair works in the first phase of300-bed hospital of National Police, and reinforcement works in the security compound of the Ministry of Interior.
The meeting also approved steps for the realization of previous decisions of NPC regarding design and construction of Machlagho dam, allocation of budget for Ministry of Energy and water’s Gabioni Projects as per the agreement of the Ministry of Finance, completion of the remaining work of road construction in Taloqan city, road construction from Yangi Qala to Chaab district and construction of road from Cheghcharan to Gardan Diwal, and award of authority to the deputy administrative and finance of Kabul Municipality for the process of documents.
The National Procurement Commission also approved the recommendations for the changes in working hours and completion of the contract as per the budgetary principles, construction of road in Dara Suf district of Samangan province and hiring of consulting firm for the legal affairs of Qaisar-Laman ring road.
The meeting was also attended by the representatives of the parliamentary commissions for budgetary, financial, and national economic affairs, SIGAR, and representatives of the NATO-led Resolute Support Mission, ARG Palace added in its statement.
