An explosion went off at a parliamentary election rally in Afghanistan's northern province of Takhar on Saturday.

The blast happened in Rostaq district and the event belonged to a female candidate.
At least 12 people were killed while 32 more were wounded in the bombing which was caused by a suicide attacker, said Khalil Aseer, a spokesman for provincial police.
The victims included also security personnel, he added.
There was no immediate claim of respnsibility for the attack which comes a week before the parliamentary election takes place.
