The explosion happened in the campaign office of Jabar Qahraman; a candidate of the Parliamentary election in southern Afghanistan, an official confirmed.
The office in the provincial capital Lashkargah belonged to Abdul Jabar Qahramn, former presidential envoy for security affairs in Helmand. Omar Zwak, a spokesman for provincial governor, however, said that Qahrman suffered life-threatening injuries. He said that seven others were also wounded in the attack.
Qahraman lost his life, a hospital source said.
The attack comes on the last day of campaigning by the candidates. The vote will be held on coming Saturday.
