Jawzjan clash leave 20 Taliban dead

At least Twenty Taliban, including the group’s key member Mullah Haqyar, have been killed when insurgent stormed a police check posts in the Jardoq village of Qoshtapa districts in northern Jawzjan province, an official said on Sunday.


District Chief Aminullah told Pajhwok Afghan News that the Taliban attacked security forces check posts at around 8:00 pm.
The firefight, he said, lasted until 12:30 am, which resulted in the death of Mullah Haqyar and another 20 insurgents. Security forces suffered no harm during the clash, he added.
Abdul Qader, a resident of locality said, Mullah Haqyar, conducted anti-government activities in the district of Darzab and Qoshtapa in Jawzjan province and Dawlatabad district of Faryab Province,
He added Mullah Omari another Taliban leader was also killed in the battle, where his body was buried today in the areas of Khatya Sai Dasht Liliy.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid denied the conflict in Jardoq village and said two Taliban had been killed by own mine explosion in the Qoshtapa district.
