At least 29 police and eight civilians have been killed in attack by Taliban insurgents in western Farah province.

The violence happened in Khost village of Khaki Safed district.
Abdul Jabar, the district police chief,said that the attacked area fell to militants.
He said that homes were burnt in the assault.
Farah is near the border with Iran and provincial officials have said that the neighboring country supplies Taliban in the province.
