Kabul investigates after Pakistani police officer's body found in Afghanistan

The body of a Pakistani police officer who went missing in Islamabad last month has been found in Afghanistan, officials said.



The body of Tahir Khan Dawar who went missing on October 27 has been found in Nangarhar province.
“The mysterious tragedy of Tahir Dawar is heartbreaking. On this I talked to both Kabul and Jalalabad. The victim’s body, now at a morgue in Jalalabad, will be handed over with full dignity & respect expeditiously. Our gov will investigate how he ended up on our side. May he RIP!,” Afghanistan’s ambassador to Pakistan, Omar Zakhilwal, tweeted.
Pakistan’s foreign ministry in a statement said that its embassy in Kabul had been informed by the Afghan foreign ministry that a body was found by locals in Dur Baba district of Nangarhar province.
It added that the Afghan side confirmed that the service card of Superintendent of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Tahir Khan Dawar was also recovered with the body.
