8 Taliban, 2 children killed in Laghman, Kapisa airstrikes
Security officials on Monday said eight Taliban militants have been killed and their weapons destroyed in separate airstrikes in Laghman and Kapisa provinces.
AVA- The officials also said two children, who moved to an insurgent hideout, were also killed in the airstrike in Kapisa.
Maj. Mohammad Haroon Yousufzai, spokesman for the Afghan army’s 201 Selab Military Corps, told media that foreign forces targeted a Taliban hideout in Slingar area of Alishing district of Laghman province on Sunday.
He said a local Taliban commander, Abdul Jabbar, and five other insurgents were killed in the airstrike and some of the rebels’ weapons and ammunition destroyed.
The military corps said three militants and two children were killed during an airstrike in Kapisa province.
Yousufzai said the airstrike was carried out on militant hideouts in Shatori and Toot areas of Tagab district of Kapisa.
According to another report, nine people were arrested for their suspected links with militants in Sarkani district of Kunar and Surkh Rod district of Nangarhar provinces.
The Selab Military Corps said six suspects were arrested in Sayedkhel area of Sarkani district and three others were arrested in Surkh Rod district during operations.
