Afghanistan will work as an effective partner with the international community instead of being a dependent country
"The main message of the Afghan delegation at the Geneva Conference was that after this, Afghanistan will work as an effective partner with the international community instead of being a dependent country." Murtazawi said.
In a joint press conference, Shah Hussain Murtazawi, Deputy Presidential Spokesperson, with spokesperson for Ministry of Finance, outlined the results of the Geneva conference, and said that for the first time international community commended the reforms and development programs of the Afghan government.
"The main message of the Afghan delegation at the Geneva Conference was that after this, Afghanistan will work as an effective partner with the international community instead of being a dependent country." Murtazawi said.
He added that the second message was, that in the second stage of transformation decade, we expect international partners to assist in regional connectivity, investment and marketing for Afghan products so that Afghanistan can become an effective partner in the region.
Shamroz Khan Masjidi Spokesperson for Ministry of Finance said that the EU contributed 474 million euros to Afghanistan, of which EUR 311 million will be spent on state-building programs, 80 million in health programs, 15.5 million in elections and 37 million on internally displaced people. The German government also contributed 5.4 billion Afghanis through the KFW Bank.
"Two days before the Geneva Conference we met the financial target set by IMF in terms of collecting revenues." He added.
Referring to the government's peace plan, Murtazawi said that by announcing the list of the government delegation for peace negotiations, the government showed willingness to peace negotiations with the Taliban. He urged the Taliban to announce their delegation for peace talks if they have the will for peace talks.
He stressed that the Afghan government has no pre-conditions to begin peace talks, but the values of the Afghan constitution, human rights and achievements will not be negotiated in any way during the talks.
 
"There is a national and international consensus on the Afghan-led peace talks and the countries of the region and the world will help facilitate the talks." Murtazawi said.
 
Murtazawi added that According to presidential decree, AGO and MoI will jointly work on allegations that members of Afghan National Women's football team were sexually and physically harassed.  Any action which is against our cultural and Islamic values and laws will be dealt with seriously.
