4 projects 167m afghanis inaugurated in Parwan

The four projects were inaugurated during a ceremony attended by Refugee and Repatriation Minister Sayed Hussain Alami Balkhi and deputy urban development minister Mohammad Nasim Khaliq.
Mehrabuddin Safi, Parwan’s acting refugee and repatriation director, on the occasion said the projects included a three-storey building of the provincial Refugees and Repatriation Department, which cost of 13.8 million afghanis.
He said officers of the department, who previously worked in a rented building against 18,000 afghanis per month, would no longer face space problem.
Mohammad Nasim Khaliq, deputy urban development minister, said the building for Parwan urban development department was constructed in two stories at a cost of 13.9 million Afghanis. He said the project took six months to complete.
He said workers of his department previously worked in a portion of the Parwan municipality where they struggled with space shortage. He added the new building would solve problems of urban development officers faced earlier.
Khaliq said two funeral homes for women, one in Payan area of Parwan and another in the second police district of Charikar city, were part of the projects. He said each funeral house had the capacity to accommodate 100 people at a time and each house cost more than 19 million afghanis. He said the projects were financed by the Ministry of Urban Development.
On the other hand, Khaliq said construction work on buildings of three schools with each containing 16 classes was launched today. He said one of the schools would be built in the capital of Parwan and the two others in Shinwari and Shiekh Ali districts of the province.
These projects would cost a total of 100 million afghanis and were part of the house building program of the ministry, he said.
Sayed Hussain Alami Balkhi, the refugees and repatriation minister, said his ministry was unable to build its departments in provinces due to a shortage of budget.
“This is the first building the refugees and repatriation ministry has built for its provincial department, our provincial employees work in a section of other government departments or in rented buildings,” he said.
He said he has decided to build the ministry’s departments in 32 provinces in the next two years.
