Special Forces torch 10 shops in Helmand’s bazaar
At least 10 opium selling shops were torched and one suspect detained during a Special Forces operation in southern Helmand province, an official said Saturday.

Omar Zwak, the governor’s spokesman, told that NDS 03 unit raided a marketplace “Amir Agha bazaar in Daweshan area of Garamser district late Sunday night.
He said a small clinic and an explosives depot belonging Taliban insurgents were destroyed in the operation. One suspect was detained and one vehicle and six motorcycles were destroyed, he added.
NDS personnel also confiscated one pistol and several bullets and two shops of computer were also destroyed, Zwak informed. Civilians suffered no casualties. The militants had left the area before the raid.
Meanwhile, a security official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said four opium selling shops belonging Taliban and another six belonging civilians were set afire during the overnight raid.
Haji Pacha, a resident of the area, said all the torched shops belonged to ordinary people who suffered millions afghanis losses.
The Taliban also confirmed the raid. Their spokesman, Qari Yousaf Ahmadi said civilians’ shops were burnt during the joint Afghan and foreign forces raid. He said ordinary people suffered millions afghanis in damage.
