US military chief rejects reports of troop pullout from Afghanistan
US military chief has rejected reports that his country has decided to withdraw half of troops from Afghanistan.

Addressing US troops in Afghanistan on Christmas Eve, General Joseph Dunford, the chairman of US Joint of Chiefs of Staff, said the mission in the country continues as planned.
“There’s all kinds of rumors swirling around,” Dunford said as quoted by Stars and Stripes. “The mission you have today is the same as the mission you had yesterday.”
US media recently reported that US President Donald Trump had ordered withdrawal of 7,000 troops from Afghanistan.
“When there is something else to tell you, I’ll make sure Gen. Miller knows in real time what changes may be taking place,” he said. “Right now, you’re American soldiers, you have a mission, just get after it.”
