At least 20 Afghan police members were killed, after a group of Taliban attacked security outposts in Sayyad district and on the outskirts of Sar-e-Pul city on Monday night, local officials said on Tuesday.

According to him, Taliban has also suffered casualties.
“Taliban attacked the province from three sides. They attacked from Sayyad district, the Number 1 Highway and Qashqari (village). Their goal was to capture an oil-rich area in the province,” he said. “The enemy also suffered heavy losses in this attack. We also suffered casualties. We had more than 20 martyrs and 23 wounded, which includes the Afghan National Police, the local police and the NDS forces.”
