Fighting in Afghanistan's northern province of Baghlan has disrupted the power supply to capital Kabul and several other provinces, officials said Monday.

The national electricity utility, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) said that the two power lines from Uzbekistan were cut due to fighting today.
It said that the first line was cut at 8:55a.m. 26 kilometres from Baghlan capital, Pul-i-Khumri, and the second was cut at 10:25a.m., 28 kilometres from the city.
As a result, power supply to Kabul, Parwan, Kapisa, Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, Logar and Gardez was disconnected, DABS said.
The company added that its technical teams were waiting for security situation to get better so that they can start repair works.
