AVA- The Defense Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areasof Zabul, Uruzgan, Daikundi, Nangarhar, Kapisa, Kunar, Badghis, Herat, Farah, Helmand, Paktika, Maidan Wardak, Ghazni and Faryab provinces.
Statement said that in these operations 31 insurgents were killed and 19 others wounded.
Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.
During these operations in the past 24 hours, 14 insurgents were killed, a hideout and two motorcycles were destroyed in Trinkot, Uruzgan capital, four insurgents were killed and three others wounded in Balamurghab and Muqur districts of Ghazni, three insurgents were killed in Dara-Pech district of Kunar, two insurgents were killed and four Taliban commanders including Mullah Boorjan wounded and a hideout and three motorcycles destroyed in Chesht Sharif district of Heart, two ISIS affiliates were killed in Khogyani district of Nangarhar province.
Similarly, two insurgents were killed in Paktia capital, an insurgent was killed and another wounded in Alinegar district of Laghman, one insurgent was killed and three others were wounded in Ghazni capital,one insurgent was killed in Gereshk district of Helmand, one insurgent was killed and two others were wounded in Nimroz capital, five insurgents were wounded in Andkhoi district of Faryab province.
In past 24 hours, 14planed clearing operations and 91 Special Forces operations conducted in different provinces; also, Air forces conducted 86 aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including10 strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.
ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
ANA as the nation’s defense forces are ready to give sacrifice to bring lasting peace and security to the people and are determined to eradicate terror groups in Afghanistan.
