Taliban attack kills four, injures over a hundred in Kabul

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack which happened near Green Village compound, which houses several international firms and charities, in Police District 9.
The four dead included three security forces and one civilian. Most of the 113 injured were civilians including women and children, officials said.
Wahidullah Mayar, a spokesman for Public Health Ministry, said that most of the injuries were hit by glasses that were shattered following the blast.
Meanwhile, a bomb attached to a Corolla vehicle exploded in the same PD 9 of the city at Abdulhaq square on Tuesday morning, killing one person who was in the car, said Najib Danish, a spokesman for Interior Ministry.
The attack comes amid stepped up diplomatic efforts for reconciliation in Afghanistan.
The United States have held three rounds of talks with the Taliban in recent months.
Hours before the attack, Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah said that the Taliban cannot gain power through violence, but through dialogue.
The Taliban have so far refused to enter into direct negotiations with the Afghan government, despite repeated calls by Kabul and foreign governments.
