Afghanistan sends it’s first shipment to India via Iran’s Chabahar Port 
Afghanistan is set to send its first shipment of goods to India through the Chabahar Port in Iran today (Sunday) in presence of President Ashraf Ghani.
AVA- The shipment will leave for Chabahar from Zaranj, the capital of northwestern Nimroz province.
Baz Mohammad Nasir, chairman of the provincial council, told media officials from Iran, Afghanistan and India, and envoys from regional countries would attend the departure ceremony.
He said a ship would carry 570 tonnes of exports in 23 containers of Maiwand Company.
On Saturday, presidential spokesman Haroon Chakhansuri told reporters the first shipment of Afghan goods weighing 570 tonnes would be sent to India from Zaranj through Chabahar.
He said the president would see off the goods through the vital corridor. The shipment will later reach Gulf countries through Chabahar.
Mohammad Rahim Karimzai, head of Karimzai Group, said he was dispatching 370 tonnes of talc stones to India via the Iranian port.
He said the stones were previously exported to Asian, European and Western countries. For the first time, it is being exported to India via Chabahar.
