The Pakistani military officials have confirmed that a number of Indian fighter jets crossed the border early on Tuesday and dropped bombs near Muzafarabad of Kashmir controlled by Pakistan.

Gen. Asif Ghafoor, a spokesman for the Pakistani military issued a Tweet following the airstrikes, saying “Indian aircrafts’ intrusion across LOC in Muzafarabad Sector within AJ&K was 3-4 miles.Under forced hasty withdrawal aircrafts released payload which had free fall in open area. No infrastructure got hit, no casualties.”
Some Pakistani media outlets had earlier quoted him as saying that the Indian jets had dropped the payloads near Balakot.
The airstrikes have been carried out almost two weeks after a deadly suicide attack claimed the lives of more than 40 Indian soldiers in Pulwama of Kashmir controlled by India.
The Jaish-e-Mohammed group had claimed responsibility for the attack.
