A key member of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria Khurasan (ISIS-K) was arrested during an operation of the Afghan security forces in Jalalabad city, the provincial capital of Nangarhar province.

Provincial governor’s spokesman Ataullah Khogyani confirmed that the ISIS-K group member was arrested during the operation of Afghan Intelligence operatives.
Khogyani further added that the detained individual has been identified as Sajid who is originally a resident of Kama district of Nangarhar.
In the meantime, the provincial government media office in a statement said Sajid was a member of the urban network of ISIS-K and was invovled in recruiting militants in ISIS ranks and spreading propaganda in favor of the group in Jalalabad city.
The anti-government armed militants including ISIS loyalists have not commented regarding the report so far.
