Hundreds of families displaced as clashes intensify between Taliban, ISIS in the East
The local officials in eastern Nangarhar and Kunar provinces have confirmed that hundreds of families have been displaced as clashes intensified between Taliban and ISIS militants in the two provinces.

Ataullah Khogyani, spokesman for the governor of Nangarhar has confirmed that clashes intensified between Taliban and ISIS militants in Khogyani and Shirzad district in the past two days, leaving several militants dead.
He also confirmed that the ISIS militants have kidnapped several Taliban militants besides inflicting casualties on them.
According to Khogyani, at least 300 families have been displaced due to the clashes and efforts are underway to provide first aid to them.
In the meantime, officials in Kunar province have confirmed that similar clashes have taken place between Taliban and ISIS militants in Chapa Dara district, forcing hundreds of families to leave their houses.
Abdul Satar Mirzakwal, the governor of Kunar province has confirmed to RFE’s Afghanistan service that 3000 families have been displaced due to the clashes which still continue between the two sides in Chapa Dara district.
