The U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan reconciliation Ambassador Khalilzad has said he will take the input he has received from his meetings in Kabul to Islamabad and Doha for next round of discussions on Afghan peace process.

“Spent the weekend in #Kabul. Had the opportunity to meet with Pres. Ghani & CEO Abdullah a few times, as well as other political stakeholders. Particularly enjoyed my time with youth leaders and the townhall with Afghans from a cross section of society!” Khalilzad said in a Twitter post late on Monday.
The U.S. envoy further added “In all of these meetings, we discussed a range of topics related to the #AfghanPeaceProcess, including how we make intra-Afghan dialogue happen as soon as possible. Will take the input I received to Islamabad & Doha for my next round of discussions.”
This comes as efforts are underway to find a negotiated political settlement to end the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan.
The intra-Afghan dialogue which was due to take place on 20th of this month in Doha was cancelled due to the controversies surrounding the list of delegates which was prepared by a governmental committee containing the names of 290 individuals.
