An explosion went off in Afghanistan's eastern Jalalabad city on Thursday, killing at least eight people.

The blast, triggered by a suicide bomber, happened near a security checkpoint in Police District 6 of the city.
At least eight people were killed while 11 others wounded in the blast, said Ataullah Khogyani, a spokesman for provincial governor.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack
