IDLG Suspends All Govt Appointments Until Elections
The Independent Directorate of Local Government (IDLG) suspended all new appointments in government institutions until the end of the upcoming presidential elections – scheduled for September 28.

The IDLG said in a statement on Sunday that no one in the center, provinces, districts and municipalities can be appointed in any rank.
The IDLG has considered an exception for those who have been shortlisted for certain post in government agencies.
The statement said that government institutions can appoint or remove some officials for security issues, corruption or inefficiency.
This comes as President Ashraf Ghani was criticized by a group of presidential elections for new appointments in key government posts. Presidential candidates said new appointments were aimed at campaigning for the upcoming elections.
However, the claims ere rejected by the Presidential Palace.
On July 18, Ghani appointed new head and commissioners for Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission.
Shahrzad Akbar, an advisor to the National Security Council, was appointed as the new chairperson of the Human Rights Commission, replacing with former chairperson Sima Samar, who ran the post for the past 18 years.
