Baghlan residents stood should to shoulder with the Afghan forces amid Taliban attack
The residents of Baghlan province also picked up arms against the Taliban militants who attacked Pul-e Khumri city in the early hours of Sunday.

Bismillah Atash, a member of the Provincial Council of Baghlan told Khaama Press that the residents of Pul-e Khumri who had weapons in their houses, stood against the Taliban militants.
Atash further added that the residents of Pul-e Khumri  stood shoulder to shoulder with the Afghan security forces to fight the Taliban militants.
Meanwhile, an official of the National Directorate of Security confirmed that the residents of Baghlan and public uprising forces joined the security forces to fight the Taliban militants in the outskirts of the city.
A group of 30 to 40 Taliban militants launched the attack on Pul-e Khumri city from the outskirts of the city.
The security forces managed the repulse the attack by engaging in a firefight with the Taliban militants which lasted for several hours.
