Karzai reacts to recent Taliban attack on Kunduz city
The former Afghan President Hamid Karzai reacted to recent Taliban attack on Kunduz city in the North.

Karzai said in a Twitter post “Unfortunately, once again, the people of Kunduz have suffered losses due to intensified fighting in the city. While peace talks have reached a critical stage and Afghans are eagerly looking forward to it, foreign hands continue fueling the conflict.”
Karzai further added “I reiterate my call on both Afghan sides to end bloodshed and engage in talks for peace.”
The Taliban militants attacked Kunduz city in the early hours of Saturday morning which the security forces repulsed.
The National Defense and Security Institutions in a statement said Sunday that the security forces fully cleared Kunduz city by launching clearance operations, killing at least 56 militants.
The statement further added that the security forces also conducted airstrikes in Zakhil Kali, Ali Khel, Kasani, Khakni and Qahwa Khana areas of Kunduz city which inflicted heavy casualties on Taliban militants.
Furthermore, the National Defense and Security institutions said the attack on Kunduz city including last evening’s suicide bombing claimed the lives of 20 security personnel.
The statement by the defense and security institutions also added that 85 people including some security personnel have sustained injuries.
