The Special Forces of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) arrived in Pul-e Khumri city of Baghlan province to eliminate the Taliban militants who are hiding in civilian houses.
The National Directorate of Security said in a statement that the Taliban militants have taken shelter inside the residential houses after attacking Pul-e Khumri city.
The statement further added that the Taliban militants are also using the residents of Pul-e Khumri city as human shields.
Meanwhile, the National Directorate of Security said the NDS Special Forces established check points after arriving in Pul-e Khumri city at around 1:40 am local time.
The statement by NDS also added that the Special Forces will soon launch operations against the terrorists who are using civilian houses and residents of the city as human shields.
Dozens of Taliban militants launched attack on Pul-e Khumri city in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The Afghan forces and public uprising forces repulsed the attack after clashing with the Taliban militants for several hours.
