Ten former Afghan election officials sentenced to five years in prison
Ten former Afghan election officials were sentenced on Tuesday to five years in prison.

The verdict was issued during the second day of trial at a primary court in Kabul.
Those sentenced included eight former members of Independent Election Commission including its head, and three former members of Electoral Complaints Commission.
The court acquitted Ahmad Shah Zamanzai, former head of IEC secretariat and Syed Ibrahim Sadat, former head of IEC’s technology department.
The trialled former election officials had been dismissed in February amid an investigation into corruption following problems with the organization of parliamentary election last year.
