Ibrahim Alokozay, an Afghan presidential candidate, said on Wednesday that the upcoming election scheduled for September 28 should be postponed due to security reasons.

Addressing an election campaign gathering, Alokozay said that a transparent and inclusive election cannot be held under a deteriorating security situation.
He warned that results would not be accepted by candidates if the election is held under the current circumstances.
Seventeen candidates are running for presidential election.
The vote is approacing as fighting has intensified across the country after peace talks between the United States and the Taliban collapsed over the weekend.
President Ashraf Ghani and election officials have repeatedly said that the vote will be held on scheduled date.
