The Independent Elections Commission (IEC) has announced that the Presidential Election’s vote recounting process has been stopped across the country.

“The votes recounting process has been stopped to address the complaints of the candidates and political parties,” a spokesman for IEC, Aziz Ahmad Ibrahimi said.

This comes as the Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah on Sunday called for immediately halting the recount of the votes.
In the meantime, the IEC commissioner, Awrangzib told reporters that preliminary presidential election results, which were scheduled to be announced tomorrow, have been delayed due to tensions hindering the vote recount process.
