Afghanistan says prisoner swap postponed as Taliban did not meet conditions
Anas Haqqani, Mali Khan and Hafiz Rasheed are still in government custody, said Palace spokesperson Sediq Sediqqi on Twitter. Sediqqi said the Taliban did not comply with government conditions, which delayed the (prisoner) exchange process.

Earlier on Tuesday, President Ghani had said that the government would release Anas Haqqani, a leader of the Taliban’s Haqqani militant faction and two other commanders, Mali Khan and Hafiz Rashid, in exchange for two university professors, American Kevin King and Australian Timothy Weeks.
His spokesman tweeted on Saturday that the militants were still in Afghan government’s custody as the Taliban did not meet the conditions.
He said that the government would review the swap and act in the light of supreme interests of the country.
