Afghanistan to increase overflight fees
Afghanistan's aviation authorities are planning to increase overflying charges for aircraft flying through the country's airspace.

In a statement, Afghanistan’s Civil Aviation Authority said that the increase would be due to installation of new radars across the country.
It said that transit, overflight fees would be increased from $700 to $950.
According to the statement, the new radars cost 112 million euros under a contract with French company. It said that the radars have boosted technical services and safety for overflights.
The radars also enable the government to monitor and control up to 45,000 feet of airspace from ground.
The plan would result in a revenue increase of $15-$21 million annually.
It would be effective from July 2020 after the implementation of first phase of radar installation project, involving three radars.
