Airstrikes in northern Balkh province targeted two gatherings of Taliban militants which killed or wounded at least 13 militants of the group.

The 209th Shaheen Corps in a statement said the airstrikes targeted the Taliban gatherings in the center and Afghan Chaharsai Al-burz area of Chemtal district.
The statement further added that the airstrikes killed 8 Taliban militants and wounded at least 5 others.
The security forces also discovered and defused an improvised explosive device which the Taliban militants had planted between Margeen Tapa and Alam Khel areas of Balkh district.
The Taliban group has not commented regarding the airstrikes so far.
