4 dead in road crash in S. Afghan province
Four people have been killed and six others wounded in a traffic accident in Afghanistan's southern Kandahar province, a provincial government spokesman said Monday.
The deadly incident happened late on Sunday evening when a wagon-type car driven from Kandahar to national capital Kabul, collided with a passenger van in Pakhkanday, an area near neighboring Zabul province, Spokesman Gul Islam Sayal told media.
"Ten passengers were affected in the accident. Four passengers were killed and six others injured following the incident," the spokesman said, adding all the victims were male.
Road mishaps are frequent in the mountainous country and occur mostly due to poor driving or badly maintained roads and vehicles.
