About 20,000 Enter Afghanistan via Torkham Border
On the third day of Torkham border relaxation, around 10,000 Afghan nationals stranded in Pakistan entered Afghanistan, officials said.
Frontier Corps personnel and police were deployed at the Torkham border to maintain law and order on the occasion, sources said. District Police Officer Muhammad Iqbal said that they had deployed special police force personnel at the Torkham border on the third day.
He said everyone passed through formal documentation process before entering Afghanistan. However, independent sources said most of the Afghan nationals entered Afghanistan without getting checked their documents.
Meanwhile, a large number of passenger coaches and taxicabs were seen proceeding towards the Torkham border. Around 20,000 thousand people have left Pakistan in the previous three days and entered Afghanistan.
