Trump’s latest remarks regarding the development of coronavirus vaccine
The U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed optimisms regarding the development of a vaccine for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) disease, claiming that the vaccine could be developed by the end of the year.
Speaking at a 2-hour virtual ‘Town Hall’, President Trump, however, warned that the virus could kill as many as 100,000 people in the United States.
Trump further added that “I think we’re going to have a vaccine by the end of the year. The doctors would say, well you shouldn’t say that. I’ll say what I think… I think we’ll a vaccine sooner rather than later.”
This comes as reports indicate the novel coronavirus has so far killed more than 67,000 people in the United states.
Meanwhile, public health experts believe it will between 12 to 18 months to develop a vaccine for the virus.
