Bicycle bomb kills two, injures 18 in Kunduz city

An explosion went off in Afghanistan's northern Kunduz province on Tuesday, killing at least two people, police said.


Eighteen more were wounded in the blast which was triggered by a magnetic bomb attached to a bicycle, said Hijratullah Akbari, a spokesman for the provincial police.
The explosion happened in Kuhna Froshi area of the provincial capital, also Kunduz.
The two deaths included one civilian and one police. All the eighteen people injured were civilians, according to the official.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing, but the official blamed the Taliban.
The blast came hours after Taliban launched attacks on Kunduz city.
The Ministry of Defense said that Afghan forces repelled the attacks, killing 11 militants and wounding eight others.
