Nine members of people's uprising force were killed in an overnight Taliban attack in northern Takhar province.

Six others were wounded in the assault which targeted two checkpoints in Lala Guzar village of Khwaja Bahauddin district.
The assault began around 1:00a.m., triggering a clash which lasted half an hour.
Taliban also suffered casualties in the assault, the source said.
