Speaking at a press conference, Abdullah said that Afghan government will be represented in talks with the Taliban by the same team which was announced in late March. The Taliban had previously criticized the delegation saying it was not constituted taking into account all parties.
Abdullah said that the negotiating team may not be absolutely desirable or ideal, but it still had a good composition.
He said violence has been reduced following a three-day ceasefire during Eid, which would help intra-Afghan talks begin.
He said that the negotiating team is ready to enter talks with the Taliban.
He also called on regional countries to continue to cooperate for peace in Afghanistan.
The US-Taliban deal scheduled intra-Afghan talks to begin on March 10.
Abdullah said that recent developments including ceasefire and release of prisoners have set the stage for start of intra-Afghan talks.
