Police confirmed that the blast in Khash district was during a clash between local security forces and the Taliban that started at 1am on Saturday.
According to official statements, Taliban’s shadow district governor Hamid Khash and two of his bodyguards were killed along with 10 local police officers when they hit a roadside bomb while trying to provide cover to their side.
