Coronavirus Cases in Afghanistan Reach 30,000
The Ministry of Public Health on Wednesday reported 234 new positive cases of the coronavirus from 651 samples tested over the last 24 hours.

So far, 67,451 samples have been tested in the government’s testing centers and there are 19,132 active COVID-19 cases in the country, according to data by the Ministry of Public Health.
In the last 24 hours, the ministry also reported 21 new deaths from COVID-19 and 609 recoveries. With this, the total cases are now 29,715, the total reported deaths are 639, and total recoveries are 9,869.
The highest count was reported in Kabul with 124, followed by Herat (34 cases), Nangarhar (10), Bamiyan (24), Badghis (8), Logar (3), Parwan (2), Badakhshan (6), Laghman (2), Kunar (7), Panjshir (3), Kapisa (7) and Daikundi (4).
Also, the ministry reported 11 COVID-19 deaths in Herat, 5 in Baghlan, 4 in Kabul and 1 in Balkh in the last 24 hours.
The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 477,807 and the number of global coronavirus cases is 9,273,773, according to Johns Hopkins University.
