Afghanistan to start university entrance exams in less than two weeks

Afghanistan will start delayed university entrance exams, locally called Kankoor, on 19 July, authorities have said.



The exams will continue for two months in different provinces of the country, the National Examination Authority of Afghanistan said.
Results will be declared in 15 days following completion of the examination process.
According to a scheduled released by NEXA, biometric registration of candidates will begin five days before the exams start.
The exams have been delayed due to coronavirus pandemic. Abdul Qadir Khamosh, acting head of NEXA, said that preventive measures will be in place.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Higher Education has prepared a plan based on which universities will reopen on coming Saturday, if approved by the cabinet.
