A loud explosion was heard in Afghanistan's northern Samangan province on Monday, an official said.

Sediq Azizi, a spokesman for provincial governor, told that the blast happened near provincial headquarters of intelligence agency National Directorate of Security.
The blast was triggered by a car bomb, following which attackers entered the target, sources said.
